As my little family prepares for deployment, we're going through a series of good-byes. This past weekend was good-bye number two. My son and I flew to Italy to attend the Yellow Ribbon Farewell Event for my husband and his unit. Every time I tried to pick up my camera, I got teary-eyed, but I did manage to snap a few at the airport that I love so incredibly much!! I'm sharing them for a few reasons:
1) I'm sharing because I love these two boys with every piece of my heart and every picture I have of them is a treasure I can't wait to showcase.
2) I'm sharing them because they are imperfect, and not re-touched beyond a very simple color cast adjust. Nobody takes 100% perfect pictures 100% of the time. You can tell by the end I was a misty-eyed fool and it's a wonder I could still hold the camera even.
3) I'm sharing because I think sometimes the imperfect is really perfect. I love every sweet sappy moment. These shots were taken in less then 5 minutes - all we had time for. And as imperfect as they are, they are my best memories from the trip.
