I just got back from a two week getaway with my family. We cruised the Mediterranean as I celebrated a very special birthday - I'm 26 yet again ;) Here are just a few of the memories we captured:
First, a shot of our ship. I swear it was a magic ship. Sure, this is only a tiny piece of it. But when you're in a dream you only look up, right?
Our first stop was Katakolon (Olympia) Greece. I spent more time marveling at the fantastic ruins, and running the length of the Olympic stadium, then taking steller images, but a passerby did manage to capture a rare shot of me and my husband:
Next was in Heraklion (Crete) Greece, complete with fish pedicures for all:
After that we spent time in Istandul, Turkey. The city was pure magic. My favorite night shot had a boat sail literally in front of my lens. At first I thought it was a throw-away, but now it's an absolute favorite from my trip.
I need a whole section for the marketplaces of Istanbul. The colors were amazing. I literally have a shot just of the colors. And so many marketplace fanciful trinkets. I was in love. I almost bought everything but saved money by taking pictures instead:
Oh and there was fabulous food. Fresh pomegranate. Baklava. Like, PLEASE let me go back.
After Istanbul we sailed to Izmir, Turkey, where we toured the ancient ruins of Ephesus:
A bunch of old stuff, right? You get the point. But my kiddo was being super adorable during the tour. So here is some of that cuteness, too:
After that we headed back to Greece to spend time in Athens:
And last, we went to Civitavecchia, Italy:
And right before we got on the train, my little boy found a boat and a cove. And we played pirates. It was a picture perfect end to a fabulous birthday vacation:
If you made it this far in the blog, THANK YOU. I am a baby photographer, not a landscape photographer. Vacation photography is a bit out of my comfort zone. Sooo, if you like my pictures...
1) Please let me know in a comment. I'd love to know you took the time to stop by.
2) If you're local, and would be interested in an editing 1:1 so you can blog your own vacation photos, message me for pricing on a private session where we will edit your photos together and I'll show you my techniques as we go.
3) And last, if you're an art lover, and would like any of these in print, I do sell prints for a ridiculously low price. Just message me and I'll make it happen. :)
